OLDr is the first act under the new label KooLr featuring KooLr Pete and KooLr Lance, who finally got back together virtually during the lockdown in 2020 to finish an album they started in 1990 but was subsequently shelved. It was a joy to make those tracks come back to life and to add a few new things into the mix as well.  Of course no where near as fun as being in the studio together but the next best thing.

Why KooLr and OLDr? Well for anyone that knows them they are and always have been KooL but they are now also a lot OLDr!!

The last track they have made is a bit of hopeful euphoria called “Party Like It’s 2021”. They had no intention of insulting those who have had a bad time of it for whatever reason but they were imagining a better place. For Lance his entire livelihood had been ripped away like so many in the entertainment industries. He felt the vibe of this track as much as Pete did and they certainly imagined a better place. They also made a bit of a bootleg version with a verse line that went “ We were locked down when we made this but forgive us if we’ve gone too far”. There may still be an opportunity for that to come out but in the mean time the very original version which is a massive slab of old school P Funk with some modern twists has just dropped. There are some dance mixes and other versions to come as they believe this is a track for everyone who wants to party again.

Anyway it’s both exhilarating and scary at the same time to be back in the limelight. Much hype and info to come over the next few months and hopefully years.
